Two open roles

Oncera is a research project on its way to becoming a company. Two roles are posted, both in Planegg-Martinsried at BioM. We keep reading speculative applications.

Open roles

Both roles start as soon as possible. Hours and the form of contract are settled in conversation.

Head of DevOps and Security

Owns the local compute chain, the infrastructure of website and research portal, and the path to certification.

Location
Planegg-Martinsried at BioM
Start
As soon as possible

What the role owns

  • Operation of the GPU workstation at BioM and the local chain of language-model harness, Boltz 2 and BEAM, including installation at a partner
  • Infrastructure of website and research portal: hosting, database, access rights, logging, two-factor sign-in
  • Building the information security and AI management systems on the way to ISO/IEC 27001 and ISO/IEC 42001: policies, the register of AI systems, the incident process
  • Security documents for partners: questionnaires, data processing agreements, preparation of the external penetration test

What you bring

  • Experience running Linux, containers and GPU machines, ideally also locally running models
  • Experience with a management system under ISO/IEC 27001 or a comparable framework, building it or being audited against it
  • An understanding of data protection and confidentiality in collaborations with pharma or biotech
  • Clear written German and English, because partners’ IT and legal teams read your documents

What Oncera offers

  • A research project becoming a company, based at BioM in Planegg-Martinsried, in the MAxL
  • Our own GPU workstation and a chain of own and open models that runs in house
  • The next project phase has been applied for; its infrastructure and security architecture take shape in this role

Head of Multiomics

Owns the characterisation of the tumouroids at transcriptome, genome and surface-proteome level, and the path from raw data to a prioritised surface target.

Location
Planegg-Martinsried at BioM
Start
As soon as possible

What the role owns

  • Surface proteomics of the tumouroids: enrichment of membrane proteins, mass spectrometry, analysis
  • Transcriptome and genome data of the lines, matched against patient tissue, as part of the validation on five levels
  • The analysis from raw data to the prioritised list of tumour-selective surface targets that BEAM takes as input
  • Collaboration with core facilities and external proteomics partners, data standards and documentation

What you bring

  • A doctorate in proteomics, systems biology or a related field
  • Hands-on LC-MS-based proteomics, ideally with surface or membrane proteomes
  • Analysis of multiomics data in R or Python, from raw file to figure
  • Experience with patient-derived models, or the readiness to learn tumouroids from the inside

What Oncera offers

  • A research project becoming a company, based at BioM in Planegg-Martinsried, in the MAxL
  • Our own biobank of patient-derived tumouroids from three gastrointestinal tumour types to work with
  • The next project phase has been applied for; the multiomics characterisation of the lines is a core part of its work plan

Where more people will be needed later

Models and data

AI engineering, computational biology and structural modelling of proteins. Around the BEAM stack: designing binders, scoring them, and holding the scores against measured data.

Laboratory

Tumouroid culture from patient material, surface proteomics and binding assays. This is where it is decided whether a prediction holds.

Speculative application

Write to us about what you would like to work on and what you bring. A CV is enough, a cover letter is not needed. We read everything that arrives and come back to you when there is a fit.
